Collinsville, IL UMB Blues-A-Palooza 2009

UMB Blues-A-Palooza

Low Down Blues in Uptown Collinsville

For one day at least, Collinsville’s Main Street will rival Beale Street in Memphis and Rue Bourbon in New Orleans, with world-class blues music filling the air and venues all along the city’s Uptown promenade.
The City of Collinsville, Illinois hosts its 3rd annual UMB Bank Blues-A-Palooza music festival Saturday October 10, 2009 at 6 p.m. on Main Street. There will be performances on 2 outdoor stages and 5 participating venues featuring over 15 acts from the greater St. Louis area. Showcasing the area’s rich musical heritage, featured performers include St. Louis legends such as David "Goin’ Fishin’" Dee & the Hot Tracks and "The Archduke of Blues Guitar" Jimmy Lee Kennett alongside up-and-coming "newbloods" like the Rum Drum Ramblers and Brown Bottle fever.
Entering its third year, The UMB Bank Blues-a-Palooza has quietly grown into the premier live music event in the metro-east. The Uptown district in Collinsville welcomes a new venue participating in the festival: The Brewhaus on Main (formerly Jacques at the Bank at 102 West Main). Other participating venues include Hurricanes, Fridays South, Johnny’s Sidebar, the 5th Quarter, The Local Pub, and Shortys on Main. Wristbands will waive cover charges at all venues and may be purchased in advance at Caseyville or Collinsville UMB Bank locations ($5 in advance, $8 at the event).
